The Melodi Grand Prix 1983 was held at the studios of broadcaster NRK in Oslo, Norway to determine which song would win the opportunity to represent Norway in the 1983 Eurovision Song Contest. It was hosted by Ivar Dyrhaug.

Format
Ten songs took part in the competition, with the winner chosen by voting from 12 regional juries. Each jury awarded 1–8, 10 and 12 points to the ten finalists.
