James Spader

James Spader first came to the attention of teenage girls when he played the rich jerk Steff in Pretty in Pink. Even though he played a cockey character in the movie, his good looks and talent couldn't be ignored. Spader then played second to Andrew McCarthy's giant eyes in the Mannequin.[1]

Spader kept getting secondary or tertiary roles in iconic films, acting alongside such notables as Robert Downey Jr., Charlie Sheen, and Diane Keaton before finally getting the recognition he deserved in 1989 with Steven Soderbergh's indie classic Sex, Lies, and Videotape.[1]
