The 1984 Winter Olympics were held between 8–19 February 1984 in and around Sarajevo, SR Bosnia & Herzegovina, Yugoslavia.[1] Sarajevo's bid was awarded the competitions in May 1978, winning the host selection in Athens, Greece against Göteborg, Sweden and Sapporo, Japan.
